WHO IS ACROSS FROM YOU
About me
Taking the first step towards counselling can feel difficult, but you do not have to face life's challenges alone.
I am a MBACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist with over 27 years of experience. I am also registered with Survivors UK and I am an approved Barnardo's Adoption Counsellor.
I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever is troubling you. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, relationship difficulties, loss, low self-esteem or major life changes, I will support you in gaining greater understanding, clarity and confidence.
Together, we can work towards helping you feel more balanced, resilient and able to move forward.
Get in touch to arrange an initial consultation, with no obligation to continue beyond our first conversation.

I prepared excitedly for my departure, as if the journey had a mysterious significance. I had decided to change my mode of life. “Til’ Now” I told myself. “You have only seen the shadow and been well content with it. Now, I am going to lead you to the substance.”
Nikos Kazantzakis, Zorba the Greek

HOW IT WORKS
Simple, private, at your pace.
Drop me an email or give me a call to let me know that you’re interested in taking the next steps in your counselling experience.
We will meet in a private, safe space at the side of my house. At the end of our first session, you can decide if you feel comfortable moving forward and we will book our next session.

BEFORE YOU BOOK
Common Questions
Yes, there is on-street parking available outside and around my home. If you arrive early, I ask if you could wait in your car until your appointment time. This is so that I can maintain your confidentiality and that of others that I may be seeing before you. We will meet in a private room on the side of my house, which I hope you will find a safe space for you to explore what is happening in your life.
I ask for 24 hours notice of cancellation, otherwise I may charge the full session fee. Obviously, there may be times when this is not possible, which will be taken into consideration.
Yes. I am a Registered Provider with most well known Private Healthcare Insurance Companies (Employee Assistance Programmes).
Please find me via the Company Website or contact me for details.

Others experiences from working with me
IN THEIR WORDS
“Dear Amanda, Thank you so much for all of your very kind support over the many months. Thank you so much for helping me on my journey with my beautiful little *name*. I truly appreciate every appointment with you and thank you so much.”
“Dear Amanda, Thank you so much for your help.
As a family we are stronger and communicate better. My friends have noticed a difference and are asking me for advice! They also say I am far more postive – so thanks again.”
“Dear Amanda, Thank you so much for being there for me over the last 3.5 years. Your counselling has really helped me to grow as an individual and empowered me. You gave me a voice and as a result, justice was served yesterday.
You will always be a special person in my life.
“A Rock”.”

“Dear Amanda, Just a little note to say a million thank yous for your help and guidance. As I came to understand ‘the fear of hell is hell itself’ and the ‘longing for paradise is paradise itself’. With much appreciation, because counselling changed my life.”
“Dear Amanda, Many books describe counselling as ‘a journey’. I would like to thank you for your help, support, encouragement, warmth and company on my ‘journey’. I know my journey and development will continue without you but I also feel that in the future, when times are tough, I will stop and think, “What would Amanda say about that”.”
